Welcome to the Tiki Hut-short drive to beaches, hot springs, & Volcano National Park. We’ve partnered with a local guide company that provides audio tours of our amazing attractions on the island! Relax and unplug into a Tiki Hut oasis featuring an outdoor Shower, beach gear, a bar grill area and your set for the adventure of a life time. The Hut is minutes away from unique island live entertainment, Farmers Markets, unforgettable local scenes.

This amazing hut is , cozy, and has all the amenities to make your stay comfortable and convenient. Off the beaten path, so it's a quiet retreat, yet 6 minutes to Pahoa town for shopping, dining and convenience. We partnered with a local tour company and include one free audio tour of Volcanoes National Park with your stay. Hawaii is full of attractions that are unlike anything else in the world, but even among these unique wonders, Hawaii’s volcanoes stand out as truly remarkable. Hawaii Volcanoes National Park (HAVO) protects some of these natural marvels, including two of the largest, most active volcanoes in the world. If you’re looking to view lava, there’s no better destination than Hawaii Volcanoes National Park.

At the park, you’ll also be able to see landscapes, formations, and archeological sites created by these volcanoes. There’s so much to see and do inside the park, so if you want to make sure you don’t miss anything, Our Guide’s Volcanoes National Park driving tour has 18 stops throughout the park. GPS and a phone app gives you reliable, turn-by-turn navigation to your favorite spots, and many more tours are available to suit your vacation needs. We’ve done the research so you don’t have to. The geothermal natural hot springs are another beautiful spot to visit and exist due to our active volcanic activity on the island and are only 15 minutes away! There are several to pick from depending on your level hot desired. It is an exciting and intriguing place to find and explore. The hut features an outdoor fire pit and bar grill lounge area for grilling and entertaining. Temperature is perfect almost year-round here, varying a bit for summer and winter from 65-88 degrees. We are always available for assistance and recommendations.

The kitchenette provides a microwave, coffee pot, small sink and mini fridge with freezer. There is a private half bath with toilet and bath sink inside and an outdoor shower. Grill and bar and tables are available. Free parking, lighting fast Wi-Fi, Tv with premium movie channels and a great location to all area attractions!

People really love Pahoa town – it just gives off that vibe and attitude to love. In the heart of the Puna district, Pahoa town is funky with western style store fronts, run down and brightly colored buildings with wooden boardwalks, vintage stores and a terrific great dining scene with some delicious eateries to choose from.

1)Old town of Pahoa is 5 Minutes away-
The Older part of Pahoa town remains unchanged with slowly decaying Hawaiian western style architecture and rustic wooden boardwalk areas. You can stroll the area quickly and even check out the Pahoa Lava Museum with some interesting pictures, artifacts and other finds to educate you to the lava intrusions into town and the surrounding areas.

There’s a lot of cool shops, boutique stores and funky places to explore in town that are starting to come into the old town scene with two cool bakeries, an ice cream shop, a tech and coffee spot and some delicious food venues in old town.
2)The Pohoiki warm springs are part of the Isaac Hale Beach Park in Puna and 15 minutes away!

The 2018 eruption has changed Pohoiki Beach Park significantly and now it is home to the newest black sand beach on the Big Island! This is a beautiful beach and well worth a visit.

The eruption also created several natural thermal ponds which are contained by all the new black sand that trap heated spring water. As the heat from the 2018 LERZ lavaflow propagates underground the water in these ponds has been getting warmer and warmer, making them now the newest natural volcanically-heated ponds on the island. You can read more about the heating up of the springs at Pohoiki at the Hawaii Tracker website.

There are 5 warm to hot springs at Pohoiki, shown on the image below. These are:

A pond adjacent to the lava flow on the far eastern edge of the beach
A pond that has formed at the location of the old boat ramp
A pond at intersection of the new beach with the old coastline at the previous location of ‘1st bay’
The previously already existing warm pond in the forest that has now heated up more
A pond at intersection of the new beach with the old coastline at the previous location of ‘2nd bay’

3)The Big Island boasts several unique swimming options from volcanically heated waters, fresh water, fresh water/ salt mix, and of course salt water. These one of a kind ecosystems include many diverse and even endangered animals you will only find in Hawaii. Located on the Red Road, Rt. 137 along the lower Puna coast, Kehena Beach (also known as Dolphin Beach) is a prominent landmark for both local residents and visitors.

We had thought Uncle Roberts Night Market was a big late-night party place, but after speaking to locals, we realized it was simply a weekly gathering of the community for food, music and a good time. This was the intent when the Uncle Roberts Awa Club was established in 1962. At the time, the market was literally “the end of the road”, marking an area of lava flow that had created land that previously did not exist. After Uncle Roberts death in 2015, the family continued to host Wednesday evening Uncle Robert’s Awa Bar and Farmers Market events.

Its one of Hawaii’s Big Island “power spots” and for good reason as it is situated just down the coast from Kilauea and the lava flow of the Pu’u'O’o vent. The energy at Kehena Beach changes somewhat depending upon the crowd (or, the crowd is drawn there due to its fluctuating energy).

The ocean activity at this beach is as energetic as the people who frequent it. Brilliant blue waves crash against black lava rock and a beach of black . The entire beach is enclosed by a 30 foot high rock cliff and surrounded on both sides by rocky peninsulas jutting into the ocean, creating a cove, encapsulating this energy.

The beach itself is gorgeous with fine black sand amidst hosting several large rocks and boulders and a nice grove of ironwood trees. The hike down is a climb down some rocks so be ready. A good sturdy pair of shoes is important as the trail descends through uneven rock. Near the bottom, round smooth rocks have sand on them making them deceivingly slippery, as well.

Swimming off the Big Island's shores, the warm Hawaiian Pacific waters is a heaven-like experience. Diving among exotic fish, sea turtles, and glorious waves will definitely bring a smile to your face. There are a variety of beaches, tide pools, and natural aquatic delights for everyone.
Swimming in harmony with the marine life in the coastal waters can provide you with a profound long lasting connection with nature. Swimming with pods of wild spinner dolphins, frolicking and playing with the friendly creatures is a joyful, life-changing moment.

Imagine floating on salty, buoyant waters while gazing down upon a family pod of 18 beautiful dolphins. The peaceful blue tranquility surrounds you, as you gracefully glide past a powerful mother and her young offspring. Laugh with pleasure as the wild playful spinners jump out of the water at high speeds, then slam down in front of you with fantastic energy.

Upon returning to shore, your entire being is filled with love and there is not a trace of negativity in your mind, body, or spirit. The memories of interacting with free spirited dolphins will stay with you for a lifetime.
