We welcome you to enjoy Freya’s cottage, a newly renovated self contained space. A seperate dwelling from our main home, the cottage is warm and modern, ideal for business travellers requiring a private stay with a full kitchen, or people visiting the bay and needing a comfortable home base with off street parking on our large driveway.

Located 5 minutes drive from Hastings central with easy access to the main Hawkes Bay expressway.

* Whilst compact, (24 metres square) our cottage is well designed and consists of an ensuite bathroom, a bedroom and a kitchen with small cafe style dining table. This opens up to the private courtyard through French doors.

* The cottage has a heat pump for year round temperature comfort, unlimited gas hot water and newly fitted amenities in both the ensuite and kitchen.

* We have provided a well appointed kitchen (pots, pans and utensils) with modest breakfast provisions, complimentary tea and coffee, (also plunger coffee) and basic pantry items, including frozen bread, butter, UHT milk and a few cereals.

* Our kitchen has a fridge freezer, gas elements and oven, toaster, kettle, microwave, washing machine and accompanying outdoor washing line.

* All linen and towels are provided, including extras if and when required and some dark flannels for use as makeup flannels. With the recent wet winter weather, we have also been offering to tumble dry guests towels, please just get in touch.

* We have mounted a smart TV on the wall, positioned so that you can cozy up in bed and watch. You will need to have your log in for your accounts - Netflix, Disney etc.

* Our home is right next door, but fenced off from the cottage so privacy is maintained, however we do welcome guests to get in touch should you want too or if needed.

Freyas cottage is located half way down Wall Road. The road can be busy at times as we are close to several schools.
Wall Road is between Southland Road and Maraekakaho Road
Southland Road leads directly into Hastings central town and passes the Hawkes Bay Racing Centre.
Maraekakaho Road connects to NZ State Highway 2

Hi, Im Samantha and I am so pleased to be able to offer Freya's cottage as a lovely little self contained place to stay.
Aaron and I have personally renovated this from what once was an old shed, with a broken barn door and open old rafters into the beautiful, qell renovated and insulated cottage you see today.
We both work, but can be flexible with accomodating guests requirements.
We have intermediate and highschool aged children and our huntaway dog, Freya lives with us also. Freya was the inspiration for the name of the cottage. She joined our family as a puppy shortly after we started transforming the space, in 2020, and has been a curious participant in everything we have done in and around the cottage.
