Welcome to a little country in city where your family and your family pets can enjoy the outdoors in the large private yard scattered with perennial gardens or exploring the neighbourhood and the banks of the river. Bridgeport is like a timeless community of its own separated from the city by one of the historical Grand rivers bridges but is still a short distance to all the amenities and the UofW.

This is an entirely separate open concept one bedroom basement apartment with self check in separate entrance, a fully equipped kitchen and a large washroom with walk-in shower (no bathtub). Laundry is on premises but not in the apartment I therefore provide a limited laundry service to my guest/s free of charge. Smoking is permitted on the deck or in gazebo.
This property is unusually large in comparison to your average city lot
Which is completely fenced and gated making it ideal for your dog to roam (supervised)leash free . All firewood is provided for the oversized fire pit out back. There is a large two tier deck to enjoy the sun on and access the BBQ plus a gazebo to provide shade as well. There is also access to a small private deck and garden at rear of property. Free Parking is located off street at the back of the house .
Note: I have an indoor cat and a new very young puppy in the home. They do not have access to the apartment but the puppy will be in the yard often. Supervised by me at all times of course but if you have a dislike, fear or allergies to either animal it’s best if you do not book a stay, as you will undoubtedly cross paths with them at some point.

Bridgeport doesn’t have the hustle bustle of the city. It has retained its small community atmosphere despite Kitcheners rapid residential development. Yet it is a short drive to down town Kitchener,uptown Waterloo and U of W. The community centre has upgraded its winter ice rink which offers free skating , movie night and various other family activities. (Currently unavailable due to Covid restriction) In the summer months you can always enjoy a ball game in one of the ball diamonds in the central parkland. You can access the rivers edge from a path right across the road.
It is just a short commute to some of our areas local treasures like the St. Jacobs farmers market, where there is hundreds of local Mennonite venders selling fresh local produce and homemade preserves, meats and pastries ,pies and cakes and handmade crafts, to many to mention .
The West Montroes covered bridge (kissing bridge)built in 1881.
Historic Elora with many beautiful scenic views of the Grand River plus many cafes, deli’s and specialty shops that sell crafts and foods from our local mennonites.
The Kitchener farmers market, and so much more to explore

Hello, my name is Kathy.
I grew up in near by Elmira but have lived in Bridgeport since 1997. I loved the neighbourhood so much I decided to stay for good and bought this house in 2004.
I enjoy gardening and there are numerous perennial gardens on the property. My beautiful fresh cut bouquets are a just reward for all the hard work. I also love to search for and collect unique things, old things, odd things, and enjoy repairing or recreating my finds.
A fun fact …I also collect key chains from all over the world if you would like to leave your mark, feel free to bring one from your hometown to add to the huge chain displayed in the entrance hallway.
I also am an animal lover. I have a very curious black cat and will be welcoming home my new BMD puppy in early March. I’m sure all my guests will fall in love with him. Puppies don’t come any cuter than a Bernese!
I have been in the Rental business for quite a few different properties over the years and now I welcome this exciting new opportunity to be an Airbnb host. I am looking forward to meeting and accommodating guests from around the world and intend on making each stay the best that it can be!
