In the heart of Mystic Country, this 100-acre Historic, Farm Stay in eastern Connecticut's coastal Countryside features a luxuriously designed and private guest house. The perfect retreat with Amazing Views overlooking distant mountains and grazing longhorns and horses. Explore 60-acres of private forest or head out and play; minutes to the beach, U-pick-it, golf, lakes, horseback riding, hiking, historical parks, casinos, dining, vineyards, and breweries. Owl's House is a spacious designer 2-story home with over 1,600 SF to stretch out and enjoy, plus outside areas like a private deck and garden, firepit area, and trails to explore in over 60 acres of woods. Tastefully decorated to create a modern ranch vibe yet relaxed and comfortable. A full kitchen is stocked with essentials like cooking oils, spices, Lavazza Blue espresso machine, coffee, tea, and farm-fresh eggs.

Weekend stays include 1pm check-out on Sunday so you have time to sleep in and enjoy a leisurely morning.

We are now featuring a range of custom curated experiences on the property from a miniature horse experience, Horsemanship 101 experience, fireside & gourmet s'mores to custom-prepared picnics on or off the property and local grass-fed steaks and burgers. The living area features a 9' leather couch, bar area, and a range of board games. The treetop master bedroom offers stunning panoramic views, sunrises and sunsets, a Casper king bed and pillows, soft cotton sheets, and a linen duvet surrounding a cozy comforter. A 55" smart TV, which comes with complimentary Amazon Prime viewing (4 seasons of Yellowstone) and the ability to login to other streaming apps. The second bedroom and art studio feature a Casper queen-size bed and pillows, 40" TV, and twin daybed (upon request and at an extra charge). The bathroom is fully updated with a walk-in shower, Watermark fixtures, soft plush towels, aromatic bath amenities, a ceramic blowdryer, and a lighted mirror.

Countryside living at its best. The area offers a range of seasonal and holiday activities including Vineyards, cider mills, antiquing, U-pick it farms, markets, dining, sailing, museum-going, Beach and strolls in surrounding town centers like Mystic, East Lyme, Essex, and Westerly. In evenings sit by the firepit to toast marshmallows and catch some fireflies or head out to enjoy the nightlife which includes some of the finest dining around plus, Mohegan Sun and Foxwoods casino are just minutes away, featuring premier concerts, indoor carting, bowling, ice-skating, arcade and Golfing or jump on the brewery trail and sample brews throughout the area. We love country life and the outdoors, so after a long stint in southern Florida swatting mosquitoes we packed up the "Ark" and moved our herd of horses, longhorn cattle, dogs, chickens, cat Milo and our pig Milly and returned to the NE. We bought the historic 1740's home and farm of the Prentice-Browning family located in North Stonington, CT. We fell in love with the 100+ acres; the rolling pasture with mountain views, the abundance of nature and the balance between living in the country and still feeling plugged in to culture and community. The guest house allows us to welcome people from all over the world and share this special slice of life. We named this place 100 Acre Wood after A.A. Milne's Winnie the Pooh; a personal childhood favorite and with the aim to create a place where we and our guests could reconnect with nature, each other and ourselves. We've now embarked on reimagining the main house but we're excited to welcome guests to the completely updated, luxuriously appointed and private Owl’s House.

We live on property but the guest house is private with its own deck with two entrances from below or shared parking in the upper driveway. You have your own garden and fire pit area. We like to greet all of our guests coming in and give a quick tour and then we stay out of your hair unless you need us for anything you simply text us and let us know. For guests who want to interact with the farm animals simply come down in the morning we are usually down there between 7-8 for morning chores and again in the evening. Guests are also welcome to visit animals at their leisure. We don’t offer horseback riding on property but we have partnered with a local ranch that does day trips to Arcadia park, a beautiful 2,000 acre preserve.
