THE HISTORY: We are a (super cool) young family who dreamed of buying a farm and finally took the leap during the early days of the pandemic (wild, we know). This historic property was originally owned by some of the first pioneers in the area and later by an executive of Eaton's (once Canada's largest department store chain) for many, many years. The property spans 16 gorgeous acres and has three houses on it that are over 250+ feet away from each other - a Victorian farmhouse and two bungalow cottages. We often Airbnb both cottages and enjoy the farmhouse for ourselves. All the houses are newly renovated and the property is loved, cared for and enjoyed by our family and friends in addition to wonderful guests such as yourselves. We hope you'll love it too :)

THE SPACE & PROPERTY: This rustic-chic cottage style bungalow is nestled neatly on a hill surrounded by trees and complete privacy, overlooking the ravine, creek and rolling hills. It boasts 1000 sqft of bright and spacious living on one level with plenty of large windows and cozy spots to relax. There are 2 bedrooms equipped with side tables and closets with built-in shelves in each room. Sleeps 4-5 people comfortably with 2 queen beds and a high quality air mattress. The queen beds are a luscious dream to sleep on with comfortable mattress toppers. The mattress toppers can be easily removed if you want a firmer sleep as well.
Newly renovated throughout including a white country kitchen with farm sink, matte black fixtures, microwave hood fan, tons of storage/closets, new quartz countertops with breakfast bar & stools. There is also a stand-alone coffee station with open shelves and extra seating. New trendy vinyl flooring throughout, so there's no carpet here to worry about. The kitchen is fully equipped including a Keurig coffee maker, microwave, brand new pots/pans, full set of cooking utensils/cutlery. All the basic and necessary kitchenware & dinnerware is ready for you. Dining table seats 4-6 people. Breakfast bar seats an additional 2-3 people. Extra chairs & bar stools are provided throughout the house.
The living room is spacious with a large comfortable sectional, seats 6 people comfortably. Includes a push down middle cushion with 2 cup holders and phone charger.
Outdoor patio with dining set, propane BBQ, Muskoka chairs & wood fire pit - all over looking the beautiful views of the ravine, creek and pond. Firewood is not provided, but please feel free to roam the grounds to collect fallen branches to use for the fire pit. Ed's Firewood is a local spot close by to pick up some firewood.
Parking for up to 4 vehicles.
*Update* There is a wood burning fireplace in the living room which is currently out of order and will be replaced soon but delayed with Covid. Either way, the home is well heated & cooled.
HOME OFFICE: Desk & office chair included in larger bedroom for a perfect work-from-home private setting with a door and beautiful view of the ravine & creek.
WIFI: The space includes Wifi and Smart TV -- The speed is great for the country and past guests have found it works very well for Zoom calls all day long too.
KID FRIENDLY: A high chair, toddler eating table, baby bathtub and/or pack & play can be provided upon request. The home is on one level (no stairs). There are only steps outside, not inside. The outdoor kids playground with slide, swings and climbing structure is available as well. A selection of board games and books are provided.
NOTE THAT THIS IS A RURAL AREA --- insects & bugs are around of course. Deer, wild turkey, coyotes, foxes and the like may pass by the property although there have been rare sightings from guests. The deer-made paths around the property through the grasses are a beautiful treat and fun to follow!
FOR LONGER STAYS OVER 1 WEEK: We provide an essentials ‘starter kit’ including toilet paper, dishwasher pods, laundry pods, coffee pods, garbage disposal bags, and some propane for the BBQ. We also maintain the driveway snow removal and grass for you. Eco-friendly cleaning products & supplies are provided for you to use, but if you would like additional cleaning services during your stay we can happily connect you with our professional cleaners to arrange a cleaning schedule.
