This two-bedroom, two bath home is a classic Up North Cottage with gorgeous views of Lake Michigan. Its upstairs loft area provides additional sleeping space for kids to play on family vacations or pack-in friends for a weekend of memory-making! Peaceful and secluded for beach days or woodland walks; and within 20 minutes to Charlevoix orchards and wineries for outings. Spend evenings relaxing around the fire, listening to Lake Michigan and stargazing in the quiet you can only find Up North.

Uhl Cottage is tucked away on a private lane, perched on a bluff overlooking Lake Michigan to the north and Grand Traverse Bay to the south. The cottage has an open floor plan with a cozy cottage feel and includes the following “must-have” amenities:
- Wifi
- Washer and dryer (located in the finished basement)
- Updated kitchen with appliances (refrigerator, microwave, dishwasher, stovetop/oven and coffee maker) and concrete countertops
- Real log fireplace
There is approximately 2000 SF of living space. The first floor includes a master bath (stand-up shower and jet-tub), bedroom (queen size bed), kitchen, dining and living room (with a wood-burning fireplace). The second floor has a large master suite (queen size bed and one twin-size daybed), full-bath and loft area (one full bed plus a twin over full bunk bed). The second-floor master suite includes a balcony with beautiful views! The Cottage does NOT have air conditioning; however, there are ceiling fans throughout the upstairs. There is almost always a breeze off the water so opening the windows at the front and back of the cottage provides adequate air movement. There are also two box-fans provided for your use.
Outside, the cottage is surrounded by trees, boasts a spacious wrap-around deck and in-ground fire pit. To get to the water, there is look-out platform with stairs to the beach. Please note, the Lake Michigan shoreline is constantly changing and in recent years has experienced considerable beach erosion. We will do our best to update the listing with current views of the beach; at this time, the beach is still somewhat walkable when the water is calm. We highly recommend water-shoes as the beach can be rocky. The cottage is very close to the Antrim Creek Natural Area (located just to the north); this area continues to have GREAT walking areas both on the beach, in the dunes, and on the woodsy trails. As well, just down the lane (within a fifteen-minute walk of the cottage) is a private beach area for residents of the road.
For entertainment at the Cottage, there are several options. For some outdoor fun, the cottage has a garage that holds beach toys, two open kayaks, and a set of cornhole boards for you to use during your stay. Indoors, there is Wifi, the living room has a Samsung Smart TV with blue ray player and the loft has a small TV with a DVD player. There is also a variety of games and cards for good old-fashion fun!
For those wanting to venture out for entertainment, the Cottage is located just 20 minutes south of Charlevoix and just a few miles north of Torch Lake (Eastport). Charlevoix is an awesome vacation town with a great selection of dinning and shopping! Less than ten minutes from the cottage (in Eastport) is a great market with all you could need – groceries, a deli (with lots of pre-made food options) and a hardware store! There is also a beautiful golf-course nearby and a winery.
Other things to note:
- Parking at the Cottage is limited. If you don’t want to play Tetris with vehicles, we suggest bringing no more than three.
- The Cottage has an outdoor grill for your use.
- For your safety, there are smoke detectors and a carbon-monoxide detector installed. We also provide a first aid kit and fire extinguisher.
- While we love pets, we ask that you NOT bring them with you. Unfortunately, there is not enough time to shampoo the carpets between stays which would need to be done for future guests who may have allergies.
