Welcome to DTJT (Downtown Joshua Tree) your much needed High Desert escape. Our newly renovated homestead cabins rest on five acres of magical landscape.

At DTJT you can swim in the 50' salt water pool, soak in the hot tub, hang by the firepit, hike, rekindle, stay up, sleep in, stargaze, explore, namaste it up, dance it off, soak up the sun, howl at the moon, bbq, listen to the owl, feed the roadrunner, take an outdoor shower, crush it at corn-hole, and yes, we have Wifi and cell service.

DTJT house 2 is a secluded, peaceful retreat. You'll drive down a long, hard packed, Prius friendly dirt road (surrounded by new and old Joshua Trees) until you come upon our retro yet renovated & upgraded cabin.

We're two songs away from town, but secluded enough to where you will be in awe of the epic starry skies and totally feel off the grid.

We want you to make DTJT whatever you want it to be whether you're coming out for a celebration, escaping city for your nature fix, working in your "desert office space" or soloing it to reconnect with yourself.

We have created this unique desert getaway so you can feel at home both inside our retro modern cabins or outside in the warmth of the sun and under the starry sky.

We have an epic swimming pool. It's big. We're talking 50 feet long. It's basically the "mullet" of pools. One side you can totally swim laps so that's the "work side." The other side has a tanning shelf and deep end bench which is, the "play side."

We have a wonderful hot-tub so you can soak those hiking muscles under the constellations and a private firepit right outside your cabin.

Inside, DTJT House 2 offers a lovely king size bed, full kitchen with eating area, comfy sleeper couch and a private bathroom.

The kitchen has essential cookware and utensils, a french press, water boiler, stove, oven, microwave, fridge, Brita water pitcher, along with coffee from Joshua Tree Coffee Co, tea, oatmeal, olive oil and basic seasonings.

In addition to the private shower and bath in your cabin, there's also a private outdoor shower. You'll think about it way after your stay.

Back to the lovely indoors...
The mini split unit can cool you down or warm you up. There is an additional wall unit, a wood burning stove oh and the bed heats up too. Whaaaa?!

We don't allow pets. We have coyotes. We sometimes makes exceptions, but you MUST disclose that prior to your stay.

There is a second cabin on the property, so if you're coming with another couple or person or you want to bring more guests, check out DTJT Cabin 1.

The cabins are situated FAR ENOUGH APART where you have all the privacy you need. Both cabins have their own private out of sight sitting area and although the pool is shared, it's big. I mean really big. And guests have different schedules so there tends to be little to no overlap. This goes for the hot-tub as well.

Kus sa elama hakkad

Joshua Tree, California, Ameerika Ühendriigid

We're 1 mile from town and town is pretty great. Farmer's market, cool shops, great food, strong coffee and cold beers.

We're 6 miles from Joshua Tree National Park's entrance. It's a must. It's life changing. For real. We have books and maps in the cabin if you want to read up about various hikes or sites.

We're 10 miles from the super popular Pioneertown. Home of Pappy & Harriets and Red Dog Saloon.

Even though you can see the twinkle of the "city lights" in the distance if you look due south, east and west you only see desert. And Joshua Trees. Then some mountains. Then more desert. You'll feel totally off the grid at DTJT so we hope that's your thing. We have 180 degree views of pure, gorgeous, you guessed it... desert.

Speaking of which...

Oh we got it!

Bunnies: Drive slow at night! Jackrabbits and cottontails will dart in front of your car. You’re going to feel so badly if you hit one.

Snakes – eeeeveryone wants to know. I’ve never seen one. The previous owner saw a few gophers which aren’t poisonous. He never saw a rattler. Snakes are wary of people and avoid us. They’re the original quarantiners.

Coyotes – They’re around. All the time. You’ll hear them at dusk. Don’t feed them or interact with them. Seriously. If you did happen to bring a pet, DO NOT leave the doors open. You won’t have a pet in the morning.

We have an exterminator come REGULARLY, but in the off chance you see something…here’s what we have.

Ants – Don’t eat cookies in bed. Don’t pour honey over each other in bed. Put your food away. Wash your plates. Clean off crumbs. They’re everywhere. It’s an ant apocalypse in the desert.

Scorpions – My phobia! I don’t even know what to tell you other than, they’re gross and creepy and creepy and gross and they’re under rocks so don’t be looking under rocks.

Black widow spiders – They’re black with a red hourglass. I know some of you want to preserve every life, but if you see one, kill it in the most loving way (whatever that is). It’s us vs. them.

In the summer around sunset you might see bats.

Keep your eye out for our resident roadrunner (meep meep!) and keep your ears open for our great horned owl. It’s not your partner snoring.

Respect our plants and animals and neighbors. And have the best time!

- Please make certain that if you have a fire, that the fire is fully extinguished before you leave or fall asleep.
- An outdoor fireplace is also provided, please do not leave the fire unattended.
- Bring flip flops for the short walk to and from the shower and pool.

Born and raised in Baltimore (Go O's!) went to college in Arizona (majored in tanning and sport psychology), moved to NYC (to become a professional stunt woman), but when I came to California for a job it was love at first sight.

Peatumise ajal

There is a lockbox and we'll give you the code the day of arrival. Sometimes I'm on the property in the main house, but even if not, I'm always avail avail to answer any questions or concerns.
