Wagtail cottage nestles in the quaint village of Gosforth, offering the perfect base to escape to the mountains, lakes and sea.
In a less touristy but equally stunning part of the lake district National Park with ample village amenities. Pet friendly country pubs, café and bakery all within walking distance.
A short drive & you're admiring the stunning views of mountains, lakes & valleys or strolling the sandy beaches. With numerous tourist attractions nearby, you're spoiled for choice.

Dating back to the 1700’s, Wagtail cottage is a traditional country cottage retaining many original features and charm.
Deceptively spacious inside with open plan living room offering cosy seating for family and friends to relax. Unwind playing board games or enjoy movie nights together with wide screen TV/ Free Wi fi/ Netflix / Amazon Prime (own account required).
The staircase leads up to 3 comfortably sized bedrooms with picturesque views of the surrounding fields and fells. You are spoiled for choice with 2 bathrooms; opt for a convenient shower or a more relaxed soak in the freestanding bath.
The dining area comfortably seats 6 with a door leading to the gallery kitchen at the rear of the property; well equipped for making family meals with a free standing range cooker, microwave, fridge freezer and washing machine.
Patio doors lead out to a pleasant enclosed secure courtyard with undercover shelter perfect for spending summer evenings relaxing with a glass of wine or making morning plans over a cup of coffee.
There is lockable undercover hanging available for cycle enthusiasts.
Private parking to the front entrance of the property for one average sized vehicle and free parking throughout the village.

A short drive takes you to the valleys of wasdale and Eskdale or the picturesque coastline. We are surrounded by spectacular scenery .Soft sand and sea breeze, woodland walks, picnics by the lake, a hearty pub meal while exploring country lanes It’s a walkers paradise with valley foot paths to the more challenging Wainwrights of the Western fells. With an array of popular tourist attractions close by , like Muncaster Castle and gardens, The La’al Ratty steam railway your spoilt for choice.

Me and my partner Peter have spent hours lovingly transforming Wagtail Cottage and acquired a few new skills along the way. upycling fixtures and furniture and having much fun while creating its character and adding the extra personal touch to create a home from home experience for all our Guests.

As keen walkers we are blessed to live near Gosforth, having Wasdale and Eskdale on our doorstep. It holds many fond memories of the breath-taking South and Western fells we have frequently visited.
A favourite local walks is along Drigg beach, taking in the sea air and miles of quiet unspoilt sand or a stroll through Blengdale forest located at the edge of the village.
