Welcome to Sunset Cottage on Cross Lake. Snuggle in within steps of lakeside. Located on a quiet 2 acres. Enjoy grilling, campfires, swimming, fishing, kayaking, paddle boating, or Jon boat. The cottage is 5 miles from I220 and is easily accessible to shopping, dining, casinos, festivals, and nature parks. An additional cottage is now available. Creole Cottage on Cross Lake. Due to the open pool and dock areas, the cottages are for adults only. No parties, extra visitors, or pets.

Sunset Cottage is a cozy and inviting place to get away from it all. Designed to meet your every need. No need to bring anything but groceries. The fully equipped kitchen provides spices, flour, coffee pot, coffee and filters, sugar, oil, paper towels, dish towels, and dish soap. The bath provides towels, soaps, shampoo, conditioner, washer dryer and laundry detergent, and hair dryer. There’s a charcoal grill and gas grill. A fire pit is in your immediate yard. Wood for one fire is provided and additional wood is available at set surcharge. You are welcome to use the little red wagon to gather limbs in the yard. Lakeside there are two piers, two kayaks, one paddle boat, and a John boat, two fishing poles, two life jackets, and a swimming pool available for your use.

At Sunset Cottage you will find birds of all kinds. Just cross over the bridge and find yourself on Pine Island (an actual island on Cross Lake) where you can see blue heron, white crane, eagles, white pelicans, mallards, geese, coots, and more. Some of the woodpeckers are so large their calls sound tropical. There are raccoon, red fox, and one time, many years ago, a black panther was sited sitting at sunset right here on the premises. Oh. And don’t forget gators. Walter B Jacobs has a nearby nature park with beautiful trails and a city park with a boat launch only 3 miles away. But if you get ready for city life you can find interstate only 5.5 miles away. There's an aquarium, casinos, a river walk with Joes Crab Shack and Salt Grass and all kinds of shopping (within 18 miles), beautiful scenic parks along the Red River, and many local festivals from Red River Revel in the fall, Sunflower Trail, Holiday in Dixie, Polk Salad Festival and Mudbug in the spring. So come on!!! Let’s grab some gumbo and let the good times roll!
