The Gum Tree Cottage is a modest open plan architecturally designed studio built on a stunning 2,000 square meter tree covered section which runs down to the beach. The property enjoys all day sun and wonderful views & sun overlooking Wellington harbor.
York Bay is one of a necklace of bays on the sunny eastern side of Wellington harbour. Bikeways, bush walks, busses and ferries connect the bays to Eastbourne.

It has one queen size bed in the main studio. It has a kitchen and bathroom with washing machine dishwasher and all white-ware, one BBQ on the large sheltered deck.
Heating options include electric wall heaters & a wood burner. Wood is provided. The cottage is double glazed and well insulated. Ultra fast Wifi is provided.

The eastern bays are part of a necklace of little settlements on the sunny side of Wellington Harbour. Bikeways, bush walks, busses and ferries connect the bays to Eastbourne, Hutt City and Wellington. in summer it is great for swimming, biking and hiking. The East by West Ferry runs into the city from a wharf around 1.5 km from the studio. Cafes restaurants and a little village supermarket are 2 km away. We provide bikes or you can bring your own.

Never stop Updating the facilities constantly for your better stay. Alway keen to share my local knowledge with you about how to discover Wellington region even better. Reach Level 8 (Hidden by Airbnb) local tour guide. Live in York Bay with family, surrounded by the bush and harbor. Walking in the bush, listening to the birds singing and swimming in the sea, is the best way to obtain healthy energy from the pure beauty of nature.

We don't always live on site but are able to meet guests if they need assistance or advice. We do visit the site every three or four days to mow the lawns water the garden and make repairs etc. If we are on site we live in our own cottage that is further down the hill and has it's own independent car park access and facilities. No facilities are shared with the exception of two clothes dryers which are in a common stand alone workroom.
