Stay in original Chatt History. Stay in a lovingly restored 1875 Victorian Mansion located 1.2 miles from Downtown. Full access to the Kitchen and Dining room are included. As is the lovely and peaceful wrap around front porch. Our goal is to transport you back in time with Southern Hospitality. I stay out of the way but I am always available to help any way I can. My home has been lovingly restored to its 1800s grandeur. We have been blessed with this lovely lady who's original lay out is still in place. The original wash closets are now bathrooms next door to your room. The original floors, 11 foot ceilings, amazing trim, windows, fireplaces, gas lights and stained glass windows are just a few amenities. We encourage use of our wrap around deck with rocking chairs. It usually has a nice breeze off the river.

This room gives you a wonderful queen bed. The room includes antiques that belonged to great GM and side table, flat screen TV too. The bed is adorned with 3" of feathers covered with luxury sheets, a double stuffed duvet and comforter. GIG internet

Our neighborhood is the Historic Highland Park area created in 1889. Ours is the first neighborhood built after the Civil War and the first to have horse drawn trolleys. Most of the homes were built in the late 1800's and are revitalized to reflect that era. My home is completely re-modeled and I have taken great pains to keep her as original as possible. Her floors, doors, trim, tile, windows, stained glass (i could go on and on) are original while important parts are brand new like the plex plumbing, wiring and roof. Upstairs baths are brand new, downstairs bath is a mix of new and old and kitchen is brand new.
We urge you to drive around and look at the re-modeled mansions and bungalows. And the appreciation of all the hard work still going into the ones being re-modeled. Keeping in mind that people cannot live in them while they are being re-done. We do still have some older couples that have lived here 60 plus years that want to stay here and who can blame them right. Still others are holding on to their property because the prices are sky rocketing and they want to wait to sell to make more money. So we are a mixed neighborhood of new homes, remodeled 1800's homes, homes being re-modeled, some people staying and other sitting on gold mines. This is the fastest transforming part of the city. For example...Condos across from us sell for 190K and 10 houses down a home just went on the market for 315K. Re-modeled homes sell for 300K typically . I think its really exciting watching old homes become the beauties like they were originally only better : ) Also new bike paths and bike kiosks are being added and at the end of our street one of the 1800's buildings is being fitted for retail which is very exciting!! Why am I going into all this detail? I don't think everybody has experienced the transformation of a 1800's neighborhood and all that goes into that project. I don't want anybody to say I didn't describe things well.
I think you find these transformations in many Historic neighborhoods across the USA because of the push to live downtown where the action is. No longer are people moving out of these amazing neighborhoods but into them. My block only has about 5 houses on it and mine is the 1st to be re modeled. The rest of the neighborhood has been completed.

We LOVE LOVE LOVE our neighborhood where everyone know everyone like in the 50's. Our neighbors are white collar professionals and self employed artists and writers that love living downtown. Together we are transforming this neighborhood. We actually have over 100 people show up at our monthly neighborhood meetings because we love our neighborhood so very much and are proud to be a small part of its renewal.
Its also awesome here because we are centrally located 1.5 mile from downtown center, 1 mile from the South side art district and 4 miles to the foot of Lookout Mountain. A block from our home is Warner Park/fitness center. You will find a Olympic size pool (closed after school starts), wading pools, spray park with slides and chutes, fitness center and the Chattanooga Zoo. Lots of fun to be had. Also, there is a Fabulous Antique mall at end of block.
Great city to get out and do fun things and make memories with the family

I love Chattanooga history and am a bit of a Historian of the area. I love meeting people and entertaining. Looking forward to this chapter of my life meeting people and sharing my lovely home.

My style of hosting is definitely Southern Style. Your happiness and comfort is my top priority. Whatever your needs I am here to meet and hopefully exceed them. I stay in the background so you can enjoy the home as yours. Im very good at assisting with itenerary so just let me know what you like. I have my own apartment in my home and a home based job. You will find me there or outside. Its up to you how involved u wish me to be.
Not surprising my favorite Movie and book is Gone With The Wind. I'm told I'm a lot like Scarlet. My home is my Tara. I love plays, good food and good music. Chattanooga meets all of those.
My style of traveling is air b and b. I love meeting the hosts and exploring based on their recommendations.
My Motto is to finish my life sliding into home base stating "WOW, what a ride"!!

While your here this is your home. Kick back and relax. Enjoy the architecture and amenities we offer. Just cherish her as I do so she is just as lovely for the next guest : )

++++Pet Policy Additional pet fee of $15.00. Pet must be under 35 lbs. and be able to be left without barking or crying. Really best to be older fur babies : ) Also pets are not allowed on the beds or furniture do to fur issues. It wont come out of sheets or blankets. I also must say that if door scratching occurs it is considered damages. I recommend a carrier. I must call if the dog barks and disturbs others also. I just want to be transparent. I actually love dogs. Ruff Ruff
