Several good restaurants and bars nearby; downtown Y a block away. 12' ceilings, hardwood floors, full kitchen and bathroom, coin laundry down the hall. Heat from radiators. Window AC units in summer. TV in bedroom. The apt. is on the 2nd floor: 26 steps. (No elevator.) Parking in lot across the street. Host lives nearby.

The Chambers Room is on the southeast front of the house. It has a full private bath a view of N. Chambers St. The white marble fireplace is one of the two original fireplaces. Enjoy the close-up view of the ionic columns, and the distant sound of trains. This is the warmest bedroom in the house.

Built by the vice president of the Purington Brick Factory in 1914, this 100+ year old home has been beautifully maintained for over a century. The downstairs space has a shower, sink, double pillowtop mattress, 43" TV and is conveniently located close to Knox College and downtown. If you're looking for a large private space, I also own the Custer Carriage House in Galesburg which you can rent on Airbnb.
