In this online experience, I start by sharing about my meditation practice. Next, we’ll do two types of meditation together.

First is a chanting mantra for 20 minutes. This type of meditation allows you to go deep into your practice. Next we will do a 10-minute breathing-out meditation. Afterwards, you’ll share your questions and reflections on the practice.

I am also happy to offer other meditations, such as meditation with a candle or mirror, Qigong, Sutra copying, and counting meditation, one of the basic Zen practices.

I've been a Buddhist monk for nearly 20 years. I worked in Shitennoji Temple for 12 years as a monk, doing zen meditation. I have been doing guided meditations for Airbnb guests for six years, welcoming nearly 8,000 guests.

I believe meditation is one of the best ways for people to find a better life via a healthy body and mind.

I'd make two suggestions: 1) I'd indicate that much of it is a chanting meditation, which is different that what some may be use to. 2) I'd indicate up front what you are chanting. As a Christian, I was uncomfortable with the expectation to chant to/about Buddha for 20 minutes, as I'm sure Buddhist would be to chant to Christ for 20 mins. Had I have known this in the notes, I would not have purchased. Yes, it's a buddhist monk, but many people can lead a mediation session neutrally.

Expect introduction from participants, Q&A, the history and background on meditation and then 20 min of chanting and 10 min of deep breathing. I experienced a 15 bpm drop in my heart rate after the class and felt very relaxed. I would recommend having a glass of water nearby for the chanting and deep breathing.
